Gun Fool
Another step complete....
CYA friends:
I'm back in time 15 to 20 years ago fooling with this 40-X pistol spearment.....
I've been getting out some of my old XP things......slave barrels for one...
I'm wanting to make a factory modified stock so bad I can't stand it.....
But................man they are a hassle........

Anyway, here's some pictures of today's work.......( I'm using the word "work" loosely here)
This first picture is of my 40-X lug, looking at the side that faces the action.....the screws that attach the trigger linkage go in from this side.
If you notice I didn't bring the clearance slot too close to the hole for the barrel, this way I won't have that thin web that you see in the XP lug I machined open to 1.200".....I was afraid of that....

This picture is of the lug looking from the front side...that faces the shoulder of the barrel.

Now use your imagination here:
I screwed one of my old XP slave barrels into my 40-X......
Imagine the action .490" shorter..........
The only difference in appearance from an XP will be the extra width of the 2nd recoil lug past the normal recoil lug.
