CYA friends:

A few months ago I had a dream......

I wanted a 40-X RFBR pistol, and I most of all, wanted it in a XP-100 factory modified stock.

But there was no way......

And now that dream has come true......I still can't believe it...

Not only has it come true, but it is absolutely freaky how detailed perfect this 40-X RFBR pistol, in an XP stock, has turned out...

Below is a picture of the 12:00 locking lug seat in this 40-X action....

100% contact........which is rare for 40-X's.......

I've worked with in excess of 100 40-X breech bolts over the years.......and a great deal of them have no bluing removed from the 12:00 locking lug, since it never touches the locking lug seat in the action....

40-X's bear on the 6:00 locking lug in the at battery position......

And the 6:00 locking lug takes all the wear from camming the breech bolt closed.....

So a lot of 40-X's never bear the 12:00 locking lug in the action.....

But look at this picture........

100% lug contact......at 12:00.........

Man I'm cited CYA friends.

Man this thing has come together so pretty.

PS:

I don't want anyone to be misled here......

The 12:00 locking lug in this action, like all vertical lock-up actions using the Remington pattern trigger, does not bear as much as the 6:00 locking lug....

This picture is more of a demonstration of the "blueprinted fit" of the pieces, of this particular 40-X action.

In other words, when this 40-X action relaxes upon firing, the parts mate 100% perfectly together.

This is the singular thing that allows a vertical lock-up/Remington trigger action, to produce accuracy.
