CYA friends:

It's Christmas Eve......I've got a bunch of folks to thank for their gifts this year..

But I had to shoot my 40-X pistol.....

And it is bad.

48 degrees, but kinda windy.

This 40-X pistol is bad.

But, how bad would it be, if it were MD-PAS ignitioned?

This is my new sand bag, which will allow me, er, Shannon Hollen, to use the longer legs at places like Livonia.

By the way:

I shot some of the black box that Robert Oates sent up.....

Plus, two lots of red box...that Jeff Patterson gave me a few days ago...

The black box, and one of the red box Eley, are stout in this 40-X pistol....

But................

When I got done with this new Eley, I shot a few rounds of a lot of Lapua that Big Dog has been successful with.

Big Dog's Lapua covered these lots of Eley....

But, this is in my pistol........this Eley may be better than Big Dog's Lapua in other guns, of course.

A Christmas gift wish for everyone interested in rimfire accuracy shooting.

CYA friends:

If I could give each of you folks interested in RFBR shooting a Christmas present, it would be this:

To have each of you sit down and kick out a card with this 40-X pistol.

There's no way you could shoot this pistol without a smile on your face.

The first thing, I guarantee, is that your first thought will be, "how does this thing shoot like this?"

"I mean, this is a pistol shot by me holding it on a sand bag with it sitting on a bi-pod!"

"How can this thing possibly shoot like this?"

CYA friends, I can't imagine us one day getting a MD-PAS pistol......which just may happen now.

That would be mind blowing, for sure.

Don't ever shoot one of these pistols....cause they'll hook you in a heart beat like nothing else shooting the 22 rimfire cartridge, on earth.

CYA friends:

Last evening I shot four lots of ammo through my 40-X pistol.

Was talking to Jeff Patterson today, who gave me the two red box lots, and the black box from Robert Oates.

Something interesting:

I started off with the Oates black box, and it killed it....

Then I picked up one of the red box lots.....

It hit the same place as the Oates black when I fired a sighter...

So I started across the card.......and the first 5 shots killed it........so I'm thinking, man, pretty good stuff...

Then the 6th shot was a 25, and the next three or four rounds were all over the place.

So I shot a 3 shot group, paper between all three shots....

So, I picked up the other lot of red........and it hit the same place, too, and it killed it, and kept killing it.....

So I then reached over and picked up the first lot of red....

And the first four or five shots killed it, then it started "wallering", as Rick Shouse says.

So I'm talking to Jeff Patterson today.....

The red lot that wallered was some that Jeff had tested killer, in the summertime.....I believe he said maybe Big Dog found it killer too, probably in the summertime?.

The red lot that killed it in my pistol was some that Jeff bought on the recommendation of another shooter.......

Jeff said he's never fired a round of this red lot....

Although he said he was tickled it killed it in my pistol..

I think everyone reading this knows where I'm going with this story.....

Now a question:

How many rounds does it take to re-wax a bore?

That first lot of red killed it in my pistol on someone else's wax.

2nd question:

Will the first lot of red go back to killing it in warm weather.

And conversely, will the red lot that killed it in my pistol start wallering when the weather warms up?

It was in the high 40's last evening when I shot.
