Are pistols truly competitive?

I'd love to see Steve Turner's reaction to that question.

He and that #4 XP ruled the world of big time RFBR wherever he shot for a long time...

Yes they're competitive.

I was talking to Big Dog yesterday and he saw this picture of the 2450 he kicked out......( I was pretty sure it was the right picture)

Anyway, Big Dog is a meticulous record keeper......

He said he went to his cabin and dug through all his old target and found this very target...

Big Dog shot this 2450 on June 1, 2008......( I had the date listed as June 2nd on my picture)

Anyway, I had fit the barrel in late May.....just a few days before he kicked out this amazing 2450...

CYA friends, that was 10 years ago, with an XP pistol....

And one other thing...he used black 1328...( me, Wally and several other folks were using black 1324 from that run back in 2008...(man that was good stuff)

I wish I still had the physical wherefore to do some pistols......but those days are long gone...

Man a bunch of folks want these pistols....

On another front:

There's not going to be a TCA with a Remington XP style, pinned to the action trigger, no trigger hanger.

I got to looking at a TCA, and the trigger can't be raised high enough to pin it directly to the action, because the cut for the locking lugs to rotate prevents it.

Therefore, if a TCA action is used with a center grip trigger, it will have to be done working around the trigger hanger.

CYA friends, I've got a million things to think about besides having a TCA actioned pistol.....

But darn it, I want one.........

So it looks like I've got a million and one things to think about now.

Bill,

You beat me to it. You are correct that a pinned trigger will not work.

But we have a way around all of that.

God willing this will happen by sometime early next year.

The plan is as of right now that this will be offered as a package of a action with trigger and linkage installed, a wood stock with center grip and bipod. All that the customer will need, will be a barrel, a tuner and someone to install them.

Friend Paul Tolvstad:

You know me, I'm nit picky........bad nit picky......cause I want things associated with rimfire accuracy perfect, if possible.

So I'm going to speak frankly here, because you, and whomever you're working with, have the potential to change the entire landscape of big time RFBR, if:

If, you folks produce a full on, MD-PAS, 6 ignitioned, horizontal rear lock-up RFBR action designed for bench pistols, in particular center grip bench pistols.

If the stock and especially the trigger, that you speak of are properly executed, that will be a tremendous bonus.

Paul, I've fooled with these pistols for 40 years now, almost 30 years with the bench pistol version, and with just me doing them there were times in years past locally, where half, or more, of the competitors were using pistols, including me, and winning.......

What if we had several schmidts building them?

These pistols are not just a novelty..........they are as serious as any RFBR rifles in existence.

Paul, if you folks can produce this equipment with quality commensurate of the best current rifle equipment, you WILL change the landscape of big time RFBR.

Good luck, and if I can help, feel free to ask.
