Hero's.....

Hero's.....

Seekers of rimfire accuracy advancement:

There's a group of what would have to be termed "hero's" who are working behind the scenes to get the masses more "quality" MD-PAS ignition RFBR actions....

And yes, they will be incorporating Mr Ebert's "SLOP" into their actions.....

Seekers of rimfire accuracy advancement, please keep something in mind.....

No matter who builds them, no two custom RFBR actions are "exactly" alike......

Mr Ebert understood this......

So he intentionally designed a certain amount of SLOP into his Turbo action...

Mr Ebert once told me that if he got out of the way, didn't attempt to "guide" his ignition system, that each individual action's
ignition system would take its own particular "set"......

And because of the simplicity of the PAS ignition system, each action would repeat its individual "set" 100% of the time "exactly" the same.

This is why a well blueprinted MD-PAS ignition action is capable of 10-0 case head penetration runs....

Hero's......yes that's the correct name for this group of anonymous, talented individuals who are attempting to bring more "quality" MD-PAS actions to the masses......

Calfee, you ain't making any sense.....

Calfee, you ain't making any sense.....

Calfee, you ain't making any sense.....if every Turbo action takes its own particular "set", as you call it, and that "set" will repeat 100% of the time..........then why do you have to blueprint the actions?

That's a good question..........and here's the answer:

The first thing I'd do with a new Ebert Turbo action would be to screw a slave barrel into it and check where the "set" had the firing pin tip located.

Occasionally I'd have an Ebert Turbo that I didn't need to do anything to the firing pin shape, or location just inside the outer edge of the rim...

Plus the pin tip protrusion through the breech bolt nose would also be correct....and occasionally even the firing pins mechanical stop reading would be correct.....

But these were rare...................

On the rest I'd have to blueprint the pin tip location, etc, etc, etc......

And on a very rare occasion the "set" would not repeat 100% of the time, so I'd have to start by blueprinting the "set" first.....this was extremely rare to have to do.....though...

Who are these Hero's?

Please keep something in mind here....I'm discussing the Ebert Turbo.....but all RFBR actions must be blueprinted....there is no such thing as a line of blueprint proof RFBR actions.....

Down on the New Products and Services Forum, I'm trying to get Paul Tolvstad to use his influence to try to persuade Dan Killough, the new owner of Holeshot Arms, to produce a "TRUE" MD-PAS ignition action....

If Paul fails to persuade Dan, then we have only one hope left......these HERO'S...

Seekers of rimfire accuracy advancement, we're at a crossroads.......

Rimfire accuracy simply can not be advanced by any form of SAP ignition....

So it's up to Dan Killough and the HERO'S to provide the masses with "quality" MD-PAS ignition actions..

Howdy Bill,

I hope that whoever is working on this project accomplishes it, and that the quality is top notch, and that it stays that way. And while I'm dreaming, I hope the price is competitive, too.

Consistency applies to many things in life. Consistent quality usually sells itself.

I still want an action.

Yesterday I did something that I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around.

I passed on a very specific custom classic rifle like I've wanted for over ten years, and it is the second time in the last five or sixth months I've had an opportunity on something like this. It was a stunning bargain, too, the guy didn't realize what he had. I could have bought it, enjoyed it for awhile, and nearly doubled my money. It sold for about the cost of a new RFBR action. It was a good enough deal that my *WIFE* was stunned I didn't get it. Take an hour or two and ponder that....

I want a new MD-PAS action enough that I didn't act when I could have, on a rifle like I've wanted for over ten years.

I've waited this long, I'll wait awhile longer. I want something that is RIGHT.

I hope whoever these folks are, that they can do it, do it right, and do it at a competitive price.

Take care,

Greg

We cannot advance rimfire accuracy with any form of SAP ignition......it's been this way for 24 years and counting...
