Now we're cooking with gas....

Seekers of rimfire accuracy advancement:

As Darrell Horsely used to say, "Now we're cooking with gas"....

Man, what an ARA Indoor Nationals we've got going on.......

Big Dog's ARA Indoor Nationals Record has an excellent chance of being broken.....wouldn't that be awesome!

Rimfire accuracy advancement has been stagnant for the past three years.....

Keep you fingers crossed that the Record will finally be broken....

Oh, and hopefully if someone does break it, they'll do it with at least two 2500's....

And whether the record is broken with SAP or MD-PAS......I don't care, just as long as it's finally broken after three long years...

Man I'm cited....

This is citing....

Let's hope if the record is broken that it's with at least two 2500 targets, or more....

The Record can be broken numerically without any 2500's, but, that's the way Big Dog set the Record three long years ago....

Concratulations to Mr Drummond ! Tomorrow they are selling 22 LR Hart barrels-:).

So you believe the Hart barrel is what made the difference......

I have heard that you have saying there in US: "On Monday they are selling products what won weekends competition"

Must we say that Hart barrel didnt block Mr Drummonds win.

Very constant high level result from target to target.

Mr Drummond must be "robot" when he shoot and also "ammo engineers" has had one of their best days.

144/150 shots to 100 means 96 % succes.

Your comment in bold orange:

So you believe the Hart barrel and the ammo is what did it......(I believe Mr Drummond was shooting Lapua)

Along with Mr Drummond's shooting ability...of course.

You know better than me that whole package need to be perfect to win with record.

I read between the lines that Ivan Wells is gunsmith behind this RF.Is this so?

I know nothing about the rifle Mr Drummond used, nor am I personally acquainted with Mr Drummond.

I'm simply following your thoughts about what you believe it took to win and set the record...

So, a Hart barrel with some absolute killer ammo, with Mr Wells doing the schmidt work combined with Mr Drummond's shooting ability.

Anything else?

Also circumstances & conditions must be good there in Chickenfoot range.

Always there is discussion how much shooting bench place means alot on outside range but also different inside range are sometimes tricky as we know.

We have one inside range where air condition is not good and "old dogs" has given advice that shoot your card ASAP before powder gas is making mirage.

Other inside range has automatic air condition. When carbon dioxide % goes up, air condition goes up and vice versa.Air is coming from left wall and bench 1&2 near this wall are tricky.Maybe must take wheather vane to use....
This range is own by town Lappeenranta and they dont give licence us to put air condition smaller or off manually.

So far you've listed this:

I think the most important thing often gets overlooked in these conversations. All the top tier shooters have the one thing you cannot buy... a true passion, drive and commitment for the sport. These people spend countless hour's practicing, tuning, testing ammo that it becomes a 24-7 lifestyle. And a lot of times their gunsmith's and teammates also have the same mentality and dedication. Very few do it on their own. The thought of just purchasing the "best rifle on earth" and some great ammo and showing up to a match and dominating the field is humorous. There is no "enigma" those guys have earned it and proved it. Doesn't matter Indoor/Outdoor not going to get into this vs. that, action/barrel/trigger. If you don't have the passion, drive, and commitment more than likely you're not going to make to the top, and if you did....well we might call that an "enigma" Hat's off to all who succeed in this sport, I know it took a lot for you to get there.
