The excitement and anticipation of a new Patterson SPEC Rifle build...


I'm excited cause J-PAT does all the work and I get to shoot them.....most of the time....


And the owners are excited because they're acquiring an iconic RFBR gun that will still be iconic 20-30 years into the future.


But Matilda, the most special part of a Patterson SPEC rifle is that it's built just for you......no one else....not just another cookie cutter RFBR gun.






One other thing.....I simply love the iconc names you Patterson SPEC rifle folks have come up with.....


And Waltzing Matilda has got to be one of the most iconic.

Primevil, Tombstone, Red River, Perfect Storm etc., etc., all so iconic....

My last SPEC rifle was going to be named "The Virginian"......SPEC 10





But for various reasons The Virginian never came about......


Now for my selfish dream:


I'd love to see J-PAT build one of his SPEC rifles and name it The Virginian...


It would be double awesome if it were SPEC P-10........


Now here's the double selfish part:


I'd like for The Virginian to use a Muller Mini Ratchet.......


I apologize that I keep showing this video, but, this is blow your mind accuracy, outdoors.....and in the video you see the group I shot just before, group #3.......that's 10 shots, no out takes, 10 shots live, in nothing......

These blow your mind groups were shot with a Muller Mini Ratchet........


So this barrel deserves a second look.......The Virginian..


No, life expectancy will not be as long........but man, if a second Mini Ratchet would perform like the one in the video, and used for Big National Events only, the barrel would last for years......if not damaged.....

Good deal.......


The bore life for the Mini Ratchet can't be great.....but.....the way that little thing shoots if one could get two or three cases, and used it for nothing but the Big National Events, my goodness it'd last for years....


Another subject, Paul:



The standard Muller 4-MI is what got the MI revolution started......and a well lapped and fit 4-MI is still today about as accurate as any other barrel in the world.....actually more accurate.....


Yesterday afternoon at the range Jeff Patterson was testing a new 4-MI build......V-3......


Paul, the thing is mind blowing......


Jeff did a video of him shooting an entire PSL card.......but the shooting conditions were so bad that the video is 32 minutes long so Jeff won't upload it to his YouTube Channel...


Don't ever brag on a rimfire.....


But Paul, the thing has got Raging Inferno and TDX written all over it......IF NOT BETTER!!!!!


If the owner of this new build will take the time to bond with it, he/she can rule the world of RFBR....


Man I wish that video wasn't 32 minutes long.....cause everyone would love to see it....


Hold on a second......Jeff Patterson just called and he's on the phone now.....he's still cited about this 4-MI build....

It's Sunday with snow on the ground here in Borden and I've been doodling and thinking about Waltzing Matilda.....





It's been a long hall, but, Matilda is finally getting ready to head down under.....


I know Bill Collaros has to be cited......


Don't ever brag on a rimfire, but, Matilda is capable of taking Bill anywhere he wants to go....


Even with Eley......yes.....I shot Matilda with Eley.....it don't get no badder......
