Bill Calfee
Gun Fool
I'm just walking in place....
CYA friends:
I've been a part of contemporary RFBR from day one, back in 1989'
Now, this is just me reminiscing......
I miss the beginning years of this sport.
These first years were so fresh and new.........and completely uncharted.
We had no idea where we were going with this thing, we just knew were were moving.
Things we take for granted today were not even conceived of back then........
At every registered match someone would have something totally new, some new idea.........mostly one shot failures.
And I was right in there with them.
I had a million ideas, mostly one shot failures, and when I'd get some spearment complete, I couldn't wait to get to the next match to try it.
When folks would arrive at a match, everyone was looking to see what new ideas were going to be tried.
I remember to this day watching a gentleman from Charlestown, Indiana kick out the first 4000 BR-50 score........2 ARA 2000's today.
And he did it with a bone stock, 37 Remington barreled action in a McMillan composite stock......I believe it was McMillan.

CYA friends, I'm no longer a RFBR schmidt, haven't really been one for several years now.
And right now I'm just waking in place.......
I miss the freshness and excitement, and anticipation, of those beginning years of RFBR.......maybe newness is a better term than freshness.
Are there still things yet to be discovered in advancing rimfire accuracy?
Of course....
But they're getting harder and harder to achieve today.
The only thing that still piques my interest today, is the possibility of this:
For the masses, cause this thing is so fresh and exciting, just like those beginning days of this sport.
