Why I'm very high on the Muller corrugated 8

CYA gun fool friends:

I just received a target.....

A CYankee has just built a new contraption using a V-1 Turbo and a Muller corrugated 8.

Here is a test target he just fired.

Late Lapua....Midas+

Outdoors, but pretty good conditions.

One plug, but it went.

Now, here's something most interesting....

There's 17 sighters.......and at least 16 of the 17 are also 100's.......maybe all 17 are 100's...

(Even the two standing out naked would probably make 100's if they had been fired at bulls)

The shot with the arrow might not make a hundred........but it might....

So that's at least 41 out of 42 rounds that are 100's......

Stout....................

CYA friends:

I don't personally believe the corrugated 8 has any greater accuracy potential than say a 4-MI or ratchet....

Why I'm high on it, is because, I've never seen one washed out in the breech end from the taper lapping process.

And I've seen a bunch of ratchets and 4-MI's washed out in the breech from the taper lapping.

Pretty amazing test target.....and new build.....

Who shot this target?

Who shot this target?

Who shot this target?

CYA friends:

I had some calls on my answering machine today wanting to know who shot this target.

You know I won't say, cause it would put way too much pressure on this individual the first time they shoot this new build.

I will say this much, though:

This individual has had tremendous success with a different brand of barrel.

But man, he's most impressed, which is an understatement, with the Muller corrugated 8.

We'll see how things develop.

What it does have going for it, is that it can be taper lapped without washing out the breech end of the bore much easier than the ratchet or 4-MI.

I have yet to see a corrugated 8 with the breech end washed out.
