Here's some barrel terminologies I use as I discuss barrel bores and rifling patterns...
The bore diameter of a barrel is a measurement from one land top to the opposite land top...
The groove diameter of a barrel is a measurement from one groove to the opposite groove....
Note:
The only diameter we can accurately measure is the groove diameter......this is done by using a micrometer on a slug pushed through the bore.
We can not accurately measure the bore diameter of a barrel........(land top to land top)
And no, I'm sorry, this can not accurately be done with gauge pins......nor reamer pilots.....
The bore diameter is not really needed anyway.........
