Can you just imagine if that miracle barrel of Tony's, along with his stock, trigger, MD and scope had been fit to a well blueprinted MD-PAS action....and along with his amazing shooting talent, and that double killer ammo he was using, what he might have actually done!!!!

It boggles the imagination just contemplating it...

We can not advance rimfire accuracy with any form of SAP ignition...

This is why we need more "quality" MD-PAS ignition actions for the masses.....and the blessing is, there's folks working behind the scenes to see that that becomes a reality..

Over the years I've removed barrels from SAP actions, including the Holeshot Arms 2500X action, and re-fit them to well blueprinted MD-PAS actions...

Timo, every time the barrel shot better fit to the MD-PAS action as oppose to the SAP action....

This is why we must have more "quality" MD-PAS ignition action, for the masses, if we're to advance rimfire accuracy into the future..

It simply blows my mind...

It simply blows my mind...

Seekers of rimfire accuracy advancement:

It simply blows my mind what Tony Brazil might have done if his contraption were using a well blueprinted MD-PAS ignition action instead of the SAP action....

We can only dream of what might have been.........

My goodness.....

I have learned this saying from US: "On Monday they are selling equipments with what they won weekends competition".We are mostly "sking afterwards".

One very succesful businessman here said: "If You are always sking afterwards others, you are rarely first in the finish".

I think to most people is more than enough to get contraption what shoots 14750/15000.

This dont give very much "room" to make better. 145/150 "perfect shots" means 96,7 % of shots has been "enough".

Pretty sure that in the future there are more than 1 Hart barrel on the line.

It is possible that brands goes further and "take room". Few years ago there in US was not very many RFBR guys shooting Lapua.Nowadays there are many.

Mostly best are using best equipments.

I'm not most people.....obviously...

Until the masses are able to shoot 15,000, (2500 AGGS) consistently there's more to be done in advancing rimfire accuracy.

And yes, there's absolutely no doubt that if Mr Brazil's components had been fit to a well blueprinted MD-PAS action he could have done even better.

This is why we must have more "quality" MD-PAS ignition actions for the masses.....

Dreaming....

Dreaming....

CYA accuracy fool friends:

I'd love to take that miracle barrel, and the rest of the components, including his miracle ammo, that were on Tony Brazil's SAP action gun, and put them on a well blueprinted MD-PAS action.....

My LORD........

Can you imagine what Tony might have done?

Bill! You have many times talked warmly about Falcon SAP action.I have seen here only 1 Falcon in action. It is Mr Tomi Korpis one and as you know it was/is real killer.

What details in Falcon action make it so good?

Friend gun fool Timo:

If I had to build a RFBR rifle on a SAP action I would use a Falcon....

The Falcon is unique in all of the SAP ignition world....

Johnathan was clever when he designed the Falcon ignition.....kinda like Flash Ebert.....

The Falcon uses a threaded bolt shroud which is held from rotating by a set screw right in front of the locking lug collar...

Now here is the clever part......

The set screw is made in such a way that it prevents the bolt shroud from rotating, but, it does not lock it down solid....

So the firing pin passing through the bolt shroud has "SLOP" which allows the firing pin tip to seek a "set", just like an E Turbo...

But in addition......

The cocking piece of the Falcon firing pin floats on the pin body.......this "SLOP" gives a second avenue for the firing pin to seek its natural "Set".

Friend gun fool Timo, the closes I ever came to a 10-0 case head penetration run with a SAP action was with a Falcon....

And there's some other factors.....the Falcon has the stiffest tang of any rear lock-up action......and the slot in the bottom of the tang for the trigger has a web in it.....the slot is not cut completely out like in other actions...

Now here's the saddest part of the Falcon story...

Right before Falcon went out of business they were in the process of producing a "quality" MD-PAS ignition action...

I mean this thing was right....

What a shame for the world of rimfire accuracy advancement that Falcon went out of business...

I'm sorry but guests of CYA can't see pictures posted here on the Match Reports forum....I'll try to post them for you folks when I respond to Oyvind on the Timo Forum...

If rimfire accuracy is going to be advanced into the future, we must have more "quality" MD-PAS ignition actions for the masses.

Providing these "quality" MD-PAS actions is up to Dan Killough, DiOrio Manufacturing and the HERO'S..

Will they step up to the plate?

What's the chances?

What's the chances?

Seekers of rimfire accuracy advancement:

We have three possible sources for more "quality" MD-PAS ignition actions.

DiOrio Manufacturing...

Dan Killough, the new owner of Holeshot Arms...

The HERO'S..

What's the chances?

That DiOrio Manufacturing steps up to the plate?

Falcon “Turbo”

I have one those Falcon PAS actions. It took some work to get it correct but now that it has been “Fixed” it’s as good as any PAS action. I had to straighten the barrel tenon threads and deepen the spring pocket to turbo depth. One thing it has is a set of weights for the firing pin. It’s an interesting concept but I haven’t tested them. It has the good attributes that Bill mentioned when he described the Falcon SAP action.

Friend JH:

I envy you and everyone else who got one...

I'd love to have one.....

Between Leonard and Johnathan, Johnathan was the mastermind behind the Falcon....Leonard was mainly a 1,000 yard centerfire expert...

Johnathan was like Flash Ebert, very open minded....and willing to change if it was called for.......both were visionaries..

I'm embarrassed but I don't remember Johnathan's last name.....all I know is, it was a loss when he got away from rimfire action work...

Visionaries like Johnathan's and Ebert's don't come along often....we could use some like them today...

JH, if you could take some pictures and post them that would be awesome.....

You'll have to post them on one of the other forums....since this forum doesn't do pictures very well....

Whomever got the few MD-PAS Falcons that were produced are most fortunate.....
