Mr. Calfee would often add into the conversation his faith to God. It was always inspiring to me because he didn't care what others thought. I think every once in a while I'll leave a Scripture in memory of Mr. Calfee.
John 9:41
If you were blind, you wouldn't be guilty, Jesus replied, but you remain guilty because you claim you can see.
If anyone else would like to add, it would be good.

John 9
His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

3;“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,”said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.”

I think about this when a challenge happens in my life. What is God trying to teach me?

I farm. I have for over 50 years.
I firmly believe you can not farm and be an atheist! What ever your beliefs a higher power is on display in the fertile soils of Americas farmland. In spring we work hard to help our lord get the crop planted so a good harvest will result. The Lords power is on display every crop year. All the technology we use is a great help, in the end our harvest is dependent on gods hand not ours!!

John 3:35-36
Do you not say, there are still four months and then comes the harvest? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest.
And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.

Isaiah 35:10
Those who have been ransomed by the Lord will return. They will enter Jerusalem singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Sorrow and morning will disappear and they will be filled with joy and gladness.

In John 8:59 the Jews had taken up stones to throw at Jesus. He passed through them without them knowing but before He was gone He seen a blind man. This man was physically and spiritually blind. Jesus did not pass him by! Jesus stopped and showed compassion and healed this man making him a believer. The example Jesus set for us in the living word of God, is even when there is opposition and not comfortable, we as Christians should never miss (pass by) the opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it shall be given you, seek, and you will find, knock and it shall be opened to you.
When we knock(pray) on the door of heaven with faith, we can expect God to give us blessings and revelation in His perfect timing.

Deuteronomy 8:3
And He humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.

Romans 28 is a seemingly prophetic chapter considering the recent assassination. God has a plan and it works for the best no matter our wants!!

Absolutely! When I read your post I thought about what I wrote in my notes early this morning.
The actions of man will not deter God's plan.
