This one is for Bill Calfee and others if interested. How about pulling up YouTube and entering,"Clara-Jumi Kang: Massenet, "Thais" Meditation (Encore)" for a piece of devine classical music.

Friend Ventidue:

How did you know that this is one of my five favorite classical works?

I did not know that "Meditation" was one of your favorites. Her interpretation is among my top favorites although there are other violinists that are equally talented. I was hoping that you would see it. If you don't mind I may have some questions for you after a copy of, "The Art of Rimfire Accuracy" arrives. I am not new to hunting or reloading or to 22 caliber handguns or rifles but I am new to 22 caliber target shooting with specialized rifles and I am looking forward to the journey ahead. May I ask some questions of you in the coming months?

I quote the last sentence of your last post:

"May I ask some questions of you in the coming months?"

If I'm still above ground, yes......

But you might want to step on it ASAP as I'm almost 80 years old.....OK

Pardon the outlandish question. What if the last 1/4" or thereabouts of the barrel did not have Lands and Grooves (which is probably not even possible)? The gases coming out of the bore would ALL escape in a uniform 360˚ whereas they do not escape uniformly because the escaping gasses come out of the Grooves at a different rate than those coming out of the Lands. If this question is non-sensical then don't bother answering it. Waiting for your book to arrive so that I can get "into the weeds". May not get too far into the weeds because of my lack of knowledge about the inner workings of a rifle. By the way, in today's world 80 trips around the Sun does not make a person old. Old age comes to those that have little to ponder, little activity, little mental exercise and little physical exercise. Can't imagine that you are lacking in any of those. Looking forward to a new friendship.

Friend Ventidue, I like your analogy about my 80 trips around the Sun...

Here's one of my favorite rock-n-roll songs:

Ol K. I am familiar with, "that lucky old Sun". I kind-a-like, "Bye Bye Miss American Pie" and all the symbols in it. Incidentally we just passed, "the day the music died" on the 3rd of February. In case you don't remember that was the day of the plane crash when Buddy Holly, Richie Valena and The Big Bopper crashed in Iowa and they were killed along with the pilot.

Getting back to classical music - are you ready for some drama? Beethoven's Coriolanus will give you some drama. What do you think?

Friend Ventidue:

Drama!

This piece is long, 10 minutes......watch it all or at least from the 8:00 minute mark...

This is probably the most dynamic classical work every written....

Your LBK and pistol fool friend, Bill Calfee

That's a determined young man leading this orchestra....

That very young man will probably become a conductor some day and he will probably be as demanding in his ability as composer as one Bill Calfee is as demanding of the shape of the firing pins in his rimfire rifles (along with everything else). To me this young man clearly illustrate what the DNA molecule is all about. I suppose that 96% of who we are is determined by our individual DNA. The remaining 4% comes from the environment and how the environment influences us.

Not to worry, I have gone around the Sun more times than you have so years mean nothing to me. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.

Would you please share your thoughts about the Vudoo Single Shot Rifle and the RimX?

Any of your thoughts will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Friend Ventidue:

Per your request that I share my thoughts about the Vudoo Single Shot Rifle and the RimX.

Friend Ventidue, I've not had enough experience with either for me to have formed definitive thoughts about them.

Sorry.....your LBK and pistol fool friend, Bill Calfee

Too bad. Thought you might have at least heard enough to have formed an opinion. Lots of positive talk about any of the Vudoo models. Have a Model 360; 3 lugs - 60˚ throw. Have not shot it yet. Waiting on some paraphernalia. Just started reading your book. Will apologize now. When I read it is done at a vvvvv eeeee rrrrr yyyyy sssss lllll ooooo wwwww pace. Read, digest, mull, underline, put notes in the margin. Your book will look like it's been through a war zone. That is why I am apologizing. Part of why I am waiting is that I purchased a SideShot Mount. It will accept my iPhone so that I can record a video. Want to record the very first shot to see where the bullet will impact from a cold bore. I will then follow with 49 more shots - all recorded and see what happens. All learning, all fun, all experience building, all interesting. Many thanks to you for sharing.

Post the video here if you can. I'm sure they will be some here, as well as I, that would like to see it.

Do you like The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi? If yes, you may like the following interpretation by the Janine Jansen ensemble. About 50 minutes. Try to get a glimpse of the Cello player at the extreme right of the group. He looks a lot like Ken Burns the well known documentarian. Ken Burns did an outstanding presentation of the multi part series about Jazz and another one about the Lewis & Clark expedition.

Would like to ask you to sign my copy of, "The Art of Rimfire Accuracy". I will mail the book to you, you sign and return. For that, obviously, I will need your mailing address. I will also send enough money for the return of the book back to me. Is this o.k. with you? Thank you.
