My name is Bill Calfee and I'm celebrating my 52nd birthday today, 1/11/24.

I'm 52 years old today, although chronologically I'm 79 years old.

CYA accuracy fool friends, I was involved in an automobile accident on 1/11/72 that only one in a million human beings could have survived...the actual odds may be like one in 10 million..or higher..

So today I'm celebrating my 52nd birthday.....even though chronologically I'm 79 years old...

"one in a million human beings could have survived...the actual odds may be like one in 10 million..or higher.."

Since I've seen some pictures.......I'll agree with the statement above.
Glad the LORD seen fit to spare you, my friend.
Nice having you here!

Jeff Patterson

Happy Birthday Bill!

Like Jeff, I've seen some pictures, even showed them to others. And I described in detail what you posted about it several years ago to the ones I showed those pictures.

When I said you were here by the Grace of God....they all agreed.

Happy Birthday, and glad you are here!

Take care,

Greg

G'day Mr Calfee , as we are both 79 years young i wish you happy birthday x 2 from Bundaberg Australia. Scott.🍰

Bill I was 79 thre years ago when I started shooting rimfire benchrest here in Northern California. Your name and writings soon came up in range conversations. I paid attention and have won a few matches. Thanks for sticking around! Mike =]

I want to thank all of you CYA folks for your kind remarks....

I appreciate it more than you'll ever know.....thank you again..

NOW..................

If there is a God, or whatever controls the universe we live in, and if I could meet God, or whatever controls the universe we live in, I have two questions I'd like to ask:

Here's a picture of the truck I was in when the wreck occurred....

DSC06090 (2).JPG

If you look closely, you can see there's a pool of blood under the brake pedal....the truck was a stick shift..and there's blood and shattered glass on the seat.

Question 1... How did my rib cage withstand the pressure that was strong enough to bend the entire steering shaft, and break the steering wheel, without driving my ribs into my lungs and heart...which would have been instant death?

Question 2...The clutch pedal hit my shin bone producing a compound fracture....I still have a deep hole scar today where the shin bone was driven out through the skin....even though blood was lost, why did I not bleed to death, since it took the rescue crews over an hour to extract me?

Dear God, or whatever controls the universe we live in.....WHY, HOW, AM I STILL LIVING?

I received this message a few days ago......

CYA accuracy fool friends:

I received this message on my answering machine a few days ago from Robert Oates:

CYA accuracy fool friends:

Robert Oates has the largest collection of Iconic Calfee RFBR guns in the world....and his collection is growing.

CYA accuracy fool friends:

Robert Oates now owns DJ Hepler's Calfee SPEC 13.......

SPEC 13 was originally named "Carolina Gold"..

But SPEC 13 is officially now "Riding with the King"

And Robert's collection continues to grow....

Happy Birthday Bill and as an update my newly acquired “Loose Change” is a hell of a shooter. Most impressively any ammo tested has been 1/4 MOA or better.

Friend Jcostabile:

Thank you.......I'm glad Loose Change is working so good...it is a very unique Calfee 2007 Anschutz...

Your LBK and pistol fool friend, Bill Calfee

PS:

I could write a small book about the 2007/13 Anschutz as I built a lot of championship winning rifles using them years ago...lot of memories....bc

Happy belated Birthday Bill. Glad your still with us!
I'm Gary Prebyl from Byers Colorado. Have shot a couple local matches with a Annie 54 MS rifle I have. Looking to have a real gun built!
thinking a Trident with a Shilen Ratchet if I can find one.

Bill could you explain SAP ignition and MD_PAS ignition systems to me, Please and Thank You.
Want to get it right when I have a gun built

Friend 10Shooter:

SAP stands for "spring around pin".....in other words the firing pin rides through a coil spring.

PAS stands for "pin around spring".....in other words the firing pin spring is located inside of the firing pin body....

The MD stands for "momentum dependent"........the Turbo and its clones use a weighted firing pin along with the spring inside the firing pin which adds "momentum" to the ignition process.......this produces extremely uniform "ignition uniformity" compared to the SAP system...

This is why I used MD-PAS actions throughout my career and folks like Jeff Patterson do likewise.

I hope you can find you a good Trident/Shilen ratchet gun..........good luck.

Is the Turbo the only action with a PAS system?
That I could get this days

Friend 10Shooter:

Yes, to the best of my knowledge.......DiOrio Manufacturing is the only place I know of to obtain one...

Friend 10Shooter, your best bet might be to obtain a used Trident or 2500X actioned rifle.....(always shoot a used gun thoroughly first before you pay your money...if the seller won't allow you to shoot it, pass it by)......

A Trident or 2500X would be a step up from your Annie......

Once you get your feet wet with either the Trident or 2500X, and find you're hooked on RFBR, then you could step up to a MD-PAS Turbo build later...

Good luck...

Bill
Thank you for your wisdom on a rifle.
I know where there is a new Trident action and Shilen Ratchet barrel, that could be put together rather quickly.
I have a McMillan BR-50 stock coming in another month for it.
Thank You Again
