Testing results

Last Saturday I did some chro. checking on Lapua Centre-X and Eley Match. Results as follows is interesting. I was using a Garmin XERO-C1.
Lapua Centre-X.
17 shots Result
Min. Vel. 1039.4 F.P.S Max. 1087.2 F.P.S. E/S 47.9 F.P.S. S/D. 14.6. I did not write down the average unfortunately.

Eley Match Box Speed 1061.
36 Shots.
Min. 1065.5. Max. 1093. E/S 27.5. S/D 6.6.
The average was 1080.8.

From these figures it appears as if Eley should be the most consistenly accurate. What I found interesting was the stated box speed to the recorded speed of the Eley, I do not know the box speed of the Lapua. I realise that the temperature differance would play apart. as when I shot this outdoors the temperature would have been around 28deg. Celcus.

Has any on done this comparison before?

Have been there a long time ago...
Interesting it may be, I realize then, that speed sorting is not at all accurate.

Speed on Lapua is easy to figure out. Put a 3 before the 1st 2 numbers and you'll get the speed in m/s.

I just use speed printed info to choose, according wind conditions, between two good lots, being the slower for more wind and the faster, for less wind.
