The Muller Modified 4-MI is the RFBR barrel of the future, because it can be properly taper lapped without washing out the breech end.......


Because the lap is guided exactly to the same degree on both the forward strokes as well as the rearward strokes..


This means that not only is the breech end not washed out, but the lands are not narrowed at the breech end..



And the proof that the Muller Modified 4-MI is the RFBR barrel of the future, is this:

The most accurate RFBR contraption on Earth, by actual record, uses one.


By actual record I mean, sub 10 MM, 40 plus round test center results...


That's not a misprint......sub 10MM

Being able to properly taper lap the Muller Modified 4-MI, without washing out the breech or narrowing the width of the lands at the breech end of the bore, is the main reason I believe this barrel is the barrel of the future...


The next easiest rifling pattern to properly taper lap, without breech washing or land narrowing, is the Muller Corrugated 8.


If I were starting a new build today, I could start with a perfect specimen of either....


Although, I would prefer the Modified 4-MI, simply because the most accurate RFBR gun on Earth uses one.
