What must SAP action nation be thinking today......

What must our friends at SAP action nation be thinking today, after the ARA Indoor Nationals?


Who do they blame for the fact, that 41 SAP action shooters not only couldn't win the ARA Indoor Nationals, those 41 SAP action shooters couldn't produce a single 2500 target.....


While only 23 MD-PAS shooters, not only won the ARA Indoor National Championship, they produced five 2500 targets...


So, who does SAP action nation blame?


They have to blame someone else, cause to hear them tell it, it couldn't be the SAP actions they shoot...


So who do our friends at SAP nation blame?


The Almighty?

Calfee?

Trump?


Who?

If I've counted correctly, there were 9 different SAP actions amongst those 41 SAP action shooters at the ARA Indoor Nationals.


The 23 MD-PAS shooters all used basically the same action........the Turbo or its clone.....although all 23 have the same MD-PAS ignition......

No matter how one slices it, it comes up the same...



If my math is correct....

The top 10 MD-PAS shooters aggd........14105


The top 10 SAP shooters aggd..............13925


Note:

6 of the 10 MD-PAS shooters were over 14000....

Only 2 of the top 10 SAP shooters were over 14000......



This means the top 10 MD-PAS shooters scored 180 points higher than the top 10 SAP shooters on average...


180 points at this level of Big Time RFBR is monumental.....



You know......


That 180 points is probably a realistic evaluation of the ignition uniformity difference between MD-PAS ignition and any form of SAP ignition.....


And here's the bewildering proposition that the world of SAP ignition faces:


There's no way for things to improve....


It's impossible to produce uniformity of ignition when the firing pin passes through a coil spring, like can be produced when the firing pin spring is captured inside the firing pin, proper.

There's been 14, different, custom SAP ignition actions produced during the past 23 years trying to catch up to the Turbo.............

Indoor shooting puts a triple premium on the contraption....


Oh yes, the shooter matters.....don't get me wrong..


But........


You'd have to be somewhat naive to believe the contraption isn't the defining factor in Indoor shooting, especially at the Big National Event level.


As the ARA Indoor Nationals this year demonstrated.


The 41 SAP action shooters not only didn't win the Nationals, they couldn't produce a single 2500 target.


While just 23 MD-PAS action shooters not only won the Nationals, they produced five 2500 targets to boot.



Now we move on to outdoor shooting, where shooter talent plays a tremendous part in who wins....


And there's one thing you have to give SAP action nation credit for, they have some tremendously talented shooters.

PS:


You know, if the top six or seven SAP action shooters were shooting MD-PAS contraptions, with their outstanding shooting talent, we'd all be in trouble.....
