Almost ready for the stock and barrel for my 40-X pistol..

Almost ready for the stock and barrel for my 40-X pistol..

CYA friends:

I'm almost there......

Straightening of the barrel threads in my 40-X action went killer....

I now have a custom quality barrel thread/action face on my 40-X pistol action.

I'm wore out....

But cited......( I don't want this 40-X build to end......I'm doing something new and different.....which I simply love)

Here's a couple of pictures...

More later...

I'm within two fairly simple operations away from being ready for a stock and barrel.....

There's absolutely no way I'd ask Dan Muller to make me a stepped, corrugated 8 groove for this pistol....with the breech end 1.150 for four inches, then down to .825" straight, from that point to the end of the blank.....

Dan's way too busy for me to ask......

Man I'm cited.............

I've now got a 40-X configured to the exact same specs as a XP-100....

Only difference is, the barrel threads in this 40-X are custom action straight and square...

Today's 40-X work...

Today's 40-X work...

CYA friends, I got the rear bedding screw in my 40-X counter bored top and bottom today.......

Next operation is to bore my recoil lug, then it's barrel and stock time....

I'm not getting in any hurry, as I want to stretch out this unique build......some headaches yes, but man I'm enjoying this thing.

Closeup of the rear bedding screw hole that has to be counter bored so the bolt head will clear the breech bolt...

And the need for the access hole in the top of the action for the counter bore, and, a wrench to tighten/loosen the screw.

CYA friends:

I wonder if our SAP ignition friends are going to salvage anything of the Big National events here in 2018, in St Louis?

You know, SAP rimfire ignition simply does not produce ignition uniformity like MD-PAS ignition....

So those SAP ignition folks have a hard row to hoe....
