.....13......

Friend TDX:

I think we've got what barrel I used on DJ's unique sporta figured out, so here's the next big question everyone wants to know:

Who now owns DJ's unique 13 sporta?

Whomever it is, I hope they have the shooting talent and where-with-all to showcase it a a Big National event.

Someone like you for instance, TDX.

Bill,

I am the new owner of Number 13, the Sporter. When I saw it was for sale, I couldn't help myself.

It is so unique, and one of a kind, plus you built it, I just had to have it.

Now here is the problem. I still have TD Junior. Junior continues to show out as he has always done.

Do I put him up and start shooting Number 13 or what?

I really don't know what I'm going to do at this point. But I guess it is a good problem to have.

Tony, sounds like a good problem to have... Challenging, especially if 13 shoots as well as TD Junior... Good luck!

Howdy Tony,

Congrats on getting that rifle!

I hope you have a GREAT time with it, and that you showcase it and get every bit of its potential on target.

I'm trying to figure out how yer gonna switch out 13 and TD Jr every shot on a card!

Try that.......could be fun!

Enjoy that rifle! I bet Bill is so happy about this that he can't hardly stand it.

Take care,

Greg

Friend 404tbang, you got that right....I can't hardly stand it I'm so cited..

I know Tony loves TD Junior as much, or more, than any RFBR gun he's ever owned...

But, I hope and pray he gets a chance to shoot DJ's 13 in a major event this upcoming year...

Friend TDX:

Tony, I'm not complaining here, OK, but, at 79 years of age with one foot on a banana peel and the other in the grave, could you step on it shooting DJ's 13 sporta......

Again I'm not complaining....but I'd love to see that thing showcased before my time is over....especially by someone with your shooting ability.....Junior will forgive you......

Man I hope TKH gets the chance to showcase 13

CYA accuracy fool friends:

Man I hope TKH gets the chance to showcase 13...

I was talking to Tony and he told me that 13 has no more than a thousand rounds down the bore.....I mean, it's still brand new...

Mother Nature hasn't even had time to work Her magic on that 4-C Broughton bore.....

Tony, man I'm glad 13 fell into your capable hands......Thank you Lord..

I just got the scope DJ had on that Sporter today. I got it mounted and it weighs 7.78 lbs. just legal. I really want to shoot it but it snowed here today so it may be a day or two.

Tony........

Everyone is dying to know how 13 shoots......me included....

I'll set the stage....

13 will never replace TD Junior.......everyone understands that....I mean, you've won Big National Events for 12 years now with Junior, and are still winning them today...

So you thoroughly understand Junior's capabilities...

13 is brand new to you.....

So please do us a favor...OK...

When you get the chance to shoot 13 some, tell us what you honestly think of how 13 compares to Junior.....

So take your time.......tomorrow afternoon will be soon enough.....cough-cough.....just kidding...

Tony we're dying to know.....

Hi Timo,

With the response posted by Bill.....I doubt that 13 has had a career. Never shot enough for the chamber/barrel to be seasoned.

Guys, I'll give a report, but I need some weather to shoot in. It has done nothing this week but rain, snow and wind blow.

The rifle may as well be unfired, the barrel looks pristine. I don't know if DJ ever competed with it.

If anyone knows I would love to hear about it.

I finally got the chance to shoot Number 13. Not the best of conditions but shootable.

I don't have any impressive scores to show, nor do I have and tiny groups to brag about.

The rifle seems to work well but will need some work for me to adapt it to my way of shooting.

First the stock isn't very stable in the bags. I can use the hard bags with Junior and do just fine but the stock on number 13 will require a full soft bag on the front rest.

The trigger pull is too hard for me. I need to lighten it up a bit. It is a Jewel so I may be able to adjust it, if not I will replace it with an FF 2.1 whisper trigger.

Third the headspace is a little tight. I was shooting two lots of Lapua and about every four or five rounds I would get feel on the bolt closing. Probably not enough to have any real affect except it put me off just feeling the difference from shot to shot. I think thou or two off the barrel face will cure that.

All and all I think the barrel is in great shape and I'm sure some shooters could take it to matches just like it is and do very well with it.

But I'm so stuck in my ways I will have to do a little tweaking.

TKH

Mr.Harper, I'm glad you got this rifle. I know Mr.Calfee is to. It landed at the right place with your history in sporter and Mr.Calfee.
