Your thread titled, "A case for the .750 tenon on a RFBR rifle" is without doubt, the most beneficial advice ever provided to the world of RFBR accuracy.

Because it affects every RFBR shooter on the planet.

No matter what brand of RFBR action, MD-PAS or SAP, your advice applies to all.

I'm going to ask Admin to make it a sticky.

TDX, you've explained to the entire world of RFBR, exactly why we got away from the giant, centerfire barrel tenon years and years ago in our RFBR actions.

Friend TDX:

A quote from my above post:

"TDX, you've explained to the entire world of RFBR, exactly why we got away from the giant, centerfire barrel tenon years and years ago in our RFBR actions."

TDX, we use button rifled barrels in RFBR....

And reducing the diameter of a button rifled barrel opens up the bore.

This means the bore at the breech end of barrels for the giant centerfire barrel thread, is smaller than the balance of the bore.

TDX, I can taper lap a rimfire bore as well as anyone on Earth....

The Muller 4-MI on TDX being just one example.

I've been lapping bores since the 80's.......

Therefore, I believe I possess the bona fides to make the following statement.

It is impossible to produce as many "killer" RFBR barrels, when starting with blanks with the enlarged breech end for the giant centerfire barrel thread.......

As it is to produce "killer" RFBR barrels starting with straight profiled blanks.

Yes, properly taper lapping a large breech end blank can occasionally be done.

Therefore................

One is handicapped when using a RFBR action with the giant centerfire barrel thread, simply because of the less likely hood of obtaining a "killer" barrel.

And vice versa, one is more likely to obtain a "killer" barrel for the .750" diameter barrel thread, simply because of the ease of lapping straight profiled blanks.

This is why RFBR got away from actions with the giant centerfire barrel thread, years ago.

TDX, you've performed a monumental service to RFBR, throughout the entire world, with your commentary on the .750" diameter barrel tenon.

Thank you.
